ACPO Professional Standards 2008
10/06/2008 to 12/06/2008
Radisson SAS Hotel, Manchester Airport
Information
The increasing complexity of contemporary society, linked to the widening mission of the police service, mean that maintaining public trust and confidence in policing is more critical now than ever before. Sensationalised media coverage of anti-corruption investigations can be damaging to the reputation of the service, but inaction and failure to investigate can ultimately be much more costly.
This conference examined how we can best balance the costs, risks and resource implications of anti-corruption investigations against the need to deal with a wide range of policing issues.
Through the use of interactive technology delegates had the opportunity to undertake risk based exercises and provide real time feedback to the conference that will help shape our thinking and future strategies.
