Youth Crime Conference

17/03/2009 to 18/03/2009
Crowne Plaza, Nottingham

Information

Youth crime within our core cities is an area in which we all have a part to play. Each city is unique in terms of the challenges faced but one thing common to them all is a determination to find the right solutions.

From education to housing, criminal justice to health, engaging with our partners is essential if we are to rise to the challenge and make our cities a safer place to live.

This conference will present delegates with an opportunity to share their common experiences in an interactive environment and explore how these can be adapted for use in other areas of the country.

Aimed at a wide strategic audience all those takes with addressing youth crime are encouraged to attend. With a focus on government policy linked to the Youth Crime Action Plan, topics will include:

  • Is youth crime falling?
  • Addressing the public confidence agenda
  • Gangs and Guns – Working with Violence
  • Making the Cost of Custody Visible
  • Improving education attainment
  • How a neighbourhood approach to policing can reduce youth crime
  • Reducing custody
  • Early intervention
  • The benefits of collective ownership
