Youth Crime Conference

The Local Solutions, Youth Crime Conference took place on 17th and 18th March this year. The event was a huge success, bringing together key figures in the field of Youth Justice including Beverley Hughes MP, John Pitts and Frances Done.

Across the two days, delegates heard of projects and strategies which other Core Cities have implemented and gained ideas of how to make use of them in their own region. Each city is unique in terms of the challenges faced but one thing common to them all is a determination to find the right solutions.

There was a key focus in finding methods which can be put in place to benefit future generations as well as having an impact now. The result was the knowledge that only through partnership and multi-agency crime reduction stragetgies can we protect the public and safeguard vulnerable children, young people and their families.

From education to housing, criminal justice to health, engaging with our partners is essential if we are to rise to the challenge and make our cities a safer place to live.
